Operational Readiness Testing

Operational Readiness Testing

Operational readiness testing

Test your assumptions to achieve you goals

Operational readiness testing is a simple and efficient way to test your assumptions and provide a level of assurance that you are in a position to deliver on your commitments. Operational readiness testing is a proactive, non-invasive and engaging way to identify vulnerabilities, establish actions and get peace of mind that you can achieve your deliverables

We facilitate operational readiness testing to identify and address vulnerabilities

We facilitate operational readiness testing exercises that focus on your deliverables in a way that is engaging. These exercises validate what’s working, uncover vulnerabilities and identify actions to address those vulnerabilities. We also leave you with the confidence and tools to run these yourself in the future.

Organisations that regularly test their state of readiness are positioned to achieve their goals

Organisations typically measure success based on their ability to deliver on commitments and achieve established goals and targets. This approach extends to business functions, departments, projects, initiatives or innovations and change management programs.

Considerable time and energy is often heavily invested at the planning stages in preparation for implementation or execution, this is where operational readiness testing plays an important role.

Readiness testing provides a level of assurance that the organisation, business function or project team is in a state of readiness to deliver on commitments and achieve their goals and targets.

A simple and efficient way to test assumptions and identify vulnerabilities

Operational readiness testing is a proactive, non-invasive and engaging process designed to:

  • Identify key deliverables that must be achieved;
  • Steps, actions or controls in place to enable key deliverables;
  • Identify vulnerabilities attributed to gaps or assumptions;
  • Establish actions to address vulnerabilities; and
  • Provide a level of assurance on the current state of readiness.

This process has a universal application meaning that it can be applied to most business operations, programs and projects.

Our approach to operational readiness testing

We facilitate readiness testing exercises with key stakeholders who are responsible for achieving goals, targets and key deliverables, this may include:

  • Management teams
  • Departments / business functions
  • Project teams
  • Designated work groups

The format of these exercises are typically conducted in a workshop participatory setting, this enables all stakeholders to be engaged in the process and contribute to shaping the outcomes.

Depending on the focus of the readiness testing, an exercise can run between 1 to 3hrs however, the exercise is deigned and tailored to our clients’ needs and capacity.

Outcomes of operational readiness testing

The relatively simple nature and effectiveness of readiness testing means that a number of consistent outcomes will be achieved, these outcomes intersect and typically include:

  • Vulnerabilities are identified
  • Actions are identified to address vulnerabilities
  • Participants gain clarity on key deliverables, vulnerabilities and actions
  • A level of assurance and the current state of readiness is identified

A simple process to facilitate your readiness testing exercise

We keep the process simple and deliver readiness exercises in a way that is engaging and non-invasive, we also leave you with the tools and confidence to run these in-house.

  1. Identify your needs and the focus of the readiness testing exercise.
  2. Schedule a date, time and location to deliver the exercise.
  3. Facilitate the operational readiness testing exercise.
  4. Provide a summary of the exercise outcomes with action items.
  5. Provide a copy of the tools and templates to run these in-house.
